As dreamed deception
would pass me by
through REM blinks
of my eye
A murmured voice

I swallow the lump
and keep an open mind

I love the poem and the metaphor of chewing the gum and swallowing the lump. Your open wondering re knowledge of time brings us all to the overwhelming feeling of... relativity... me at least. Well crafted with (as if) an inquietude in the background.

Very good imagery, just like Bardo's pointed out above. Excellent work...maybe even brilliant. You'd make a very good Imagist or Cubist, I'm sure.

thank you both. I looked up cubism but I did not fully grasp the concept other than taking a full picture, reducing it to a minimum and then possibly rearranging it to reflect other subtle meanings. sounds simple.....but!
