View Full Version : A dim hope in solitude, for now

Whereas many are in Golden regions
I find myself farther from Utopia.
Many are free to engage their common
Knowing themselves supported ideas.
Dream of all is, for the whole world the same.
No heretics, everyone content- and tame.
Then they can fear none, everyone’s a bond.
Who knows, I may be the only beacon
Upon the coming dark sea to give light.
They now don’t understand. I live on the
Corner of the coast, the beach is faraway,
But when, when the inevitable sunset
To do them shock, I will be the beacon,
Knowing the truth along, to give them light.

It would be so interesting if you could share what is farther from Utopia. And who knows, this could prevent people from erring. Why to wait with the truth? Is not truth that the world needs? For of what avail your light, once it's after the inevitable sunset...

For as long as people gather in a common society to deceive themselves, my Utopia which encompasses, not necessarily the ultimate truth, but some truths that are capable of being discovered if we are willing to, is farther away--for I want to tell the truth and for them to understand, but they are not willing to.

The truth can be many truths. The situation here is just as the situation in 'the Death of Ivan Ilyich', where people gather to form a society to deceive themselves from their ultimate truth--death.

Today we see the great deal of self-deception from our capitalistic, individualistic, commerce-exploding, advertisement-inundating world. Eventually what we cling onto will be nothing after all.

You are right that certain groups of people are thirsty of the truth, so whilst they are on the beach celebrating life they know the inevitable sunset, but the mass has deceived themselves so greatly that they have blinded themselves, sub-consciously intentional, to do so.

The world needs the truth, but the mass don't want it. So I can only wait here, until the time is right.

This near apocalyptic poem is appealing, and I agree that most are the confused sorts and we need "truths" and in point of fact people crowd together but arrive at nothing and their quest for the truth is duping them. Very insightful and piercing. New use and exploration

The real progress is individual, the collective one follows. It's the individual corruption and/apathy that first is to be shaken. The biblical wise advice is not to contemplate Sodom and Gomorrah...
On the other hand, to raise the standard of truth just to fold it up doesn't seem to serve awareness and evolution... but of course I might be wrong.

What comes
To be our end

Yet I believe good deeds have good

@ Blazeofglory: Thanks for your appreciation =)

@ Bar22do: I agree on what you're saying and belief is important, sometimes more powerful than the reality. That's why the title of this poem contains ',for now'. For whoever faces a failure, must go through a phase of solitude, to stand up again. Methods of spreading the light, after all, can always be different, and there must be a wavelength and frequency that reach the other end =)
Since I am not a Christian, it would very interesting if I could hear from you the Biblical example you are referring to? Maybe some of your personal interpretation as well?

Be well and have faith.

I'll do it gladly, soon. For tonight it's late. Thanks for opening the dialogue, TEIR!
