I am a high school student and for my english class, I have to come up with 3 themes, and 3 quotes for each theme that support it.
My themes are:
1. Civilization protects innocence.
2. When taken from civilization, humans revert to savagery. OR Being primal is much more natural to a human than being civilized.
3. Order/rules is necessary for a society to operate.

I have some examples, but they are a bit of a stretch. Any themes that are more easily identified throughout the novel will be greatly appreciated too!
Thank you for the help!

its been awhile since ive read the book teekaay but you seem to have done okay. one thing i might suggest is to consider, perhaps by way of altering one of your themes, that the major characters were all youths. in that case, could it be less about civilization and more about parental control/maturity/moral education (do those things imply civilization i wonder)?
