I love the little corners of my poems,
the lines that take a prat-
fall now and then, the helter
-skelter that stops just short of a shambles
or a little way beyond.

This is not
what Robert Frost said of free verse:
that it was like playing tennis without a net.

This is like playing tennis without a net,
an adversary, a racquet
or a ball.

Could not tennis without a net, not necessarily be a negative ?

I play tennis, and to think about it playing it without a net would be interesting indeed.
Not better, but not worse either, just different.

To me it sound more akin to Solitaire, though no less creative for it.
