"Grow old along with me!
The best is yet to be,
The last of life, for which the first was made"

Robert Browning “Rabbi Ben Ezra”

Breathe along with me.
The best is not yet to be,
nor ever was. The best
is now. The snap of the coffee,
the rigour of the morning...

Now is your body. Now
is all the religion you will ever need.
Now sings in your blood.
Now is all the people
you ever loved.

Now is your pride and your despair.
Now is the solemn or ecstatic air
you breathe.

You breathe.
You
breathe.

Yes My Prince, you were right. It is rather good. Feel the moment and delight in it.

I reciprocate your accolade of, "magnificent." H

I loved your opening and closing lines; a fine examinTion of living in the present moment and of being truly present in our moments with others.

I am all about the now..love this one, my friend! It's a poem I would want to find next to my own cup o' joe in the morning....or to sneak in somewhere for my beloved to find.

A suitably mantra-like poem given the content, although felt the point was laboured a bit too much and the tone becomes rather didactic.

While I'm not a coffee-drinker, I enjoyed the 'snap of coffee' metaphor and liked the line-breaks at the end of the poem.

Very good, I think, My Prince.
The sisyphean moment, it is
all there is.

The thought or "what" of the poem echoes both Walt Whitman and the Beat poets who were highly (no pun intended) influenced by Zen Buddhism. The style or "how" of the poem is all YOU.

One of your best.

One of your best.

But after the "what" and the "how" I might have expected you to contemplate the "why". Thank you very much.

Like this very much, Prince.
It reminds me of the poem Ghazal by Zeb-un-Nisa.

Now is your body. Now
is all the religion you will ever need.
Now sings in your blood.

is my favorite bit.
