The Joy and the Sorrow

It is a moment that seems frozen in time,
When you hold your baby girl for the very first time
The diapers, bottles, and teething are endless it seems
But this is the daughter you’ve loved in your dreams
You watch her ride the bus, on her first day of school
Knowing that strangers now help make the rules
It’s graduation day and you’re feeling so proud
You can only see one face in that turmoil and crowd
With tears in your eyes you walk her down the aisle
As she joins with another who now makes her smile
Seldom we remember in the excitement of the day
The terrible finality of “We give this bride away…”

You know she is going to be fine...after all, she was raised right! Sweet, sweet poem

Thank you all very much. I am not dealing very well with her moving, something like a 5 1/2 hour drive one way, and in with her in-laws, but writing this poem helped a bit. God, I miss her already!

Stiff upper lip Pen,
she'll be fine and you
get grandkids.
It's a pretty good deal
in the end.
The poem is very touching.
...peace...
