man I have no idea, i've had it for a while. I wrote half a poem but thats it for a while now. I guess you just cant pressure something that comes as naturally as writing.

My writers block has been on going since last summer. I get it alot. Sometimes for years on end and then have months of creative activity. Just have to wait it out or till you feel inspired again.

I'm recalling Loreena McKennitt's words on the booklet of her album The Visit, where she refers to the creative impulse as being a visit that comes and goes at free will. Something that knocks on our door, and not something we can command. In case it's true, we'd better keep our ears close to the door, so we can promptly open at the first knock... of course after checking it's not a housebreaker :p

If you get it, and with writing trashy 1000 word comedy articles it doesn't happen to me much I'm pleased to say, all you can do is walk away and try again later. If what you then produce is substandard, don't throw it away, read it through a bit later, extract the best bits, and the brain tends to sling in a couple of synapses you weren't expecting. I know it sounds tedious, but you've just got to keep trying, or risk becoming a bit pretentious. Not a bad thing for a writer, I know, but sometimes a bit destructive. And DON'T WORRY! It doesn't work!!
