ode to the Eighteen Twists

the Mount Tai is so high
And it is difficult to climb
if you want to go up
the Eighteen Twists you have to pass
under the Eighteens I look up to the sky
Over the eighteens the returning birds fly
the birds come back because the sky is far
i know the road is long but I shall still start
to the top you should go through thousands of adventure
But the beautiful sceneries I shall go after
loving the high mountains is my nature
And today at Mount Tai I shall be a climber
For nine hundred miles of green I dare to climb over
the eighteen twists is like a ladder
It winds its way to the cloud higher
the sea of lotus has been formed
When the clouds join together
And all gods come to see the wonder
Their sleeves flying to dye the colorful dawn
on the bold cliff crawling the dragon vines
In the empty valley come a thousand thunders
And I am listening to the rushing rivers
the apes are calling and the eagles circling
to welcome the guests from afar
The clouds are flying and the wind dancing
to wash their clothes of dust
at the gate of middle sky I have a rest
I am hungry and my body all over sweat
the white clouds change to gray dogs
The profound theory is hidden in the rocks
crowing is the cuckoo
and please lift your foot
don’t hesitate and don’t haste
Never let your heart waste
on the long journey of life
You will know who I am
On the way to the sky
There is no straight path
I shall drink three glasses of alcohol
And encourage me to go
i promise to reach the top
And see the clouds below

What a glorious adventure and how beautifully rendered!

Is it the most pure, happiest synchronicity that there are 18 twists? In Hebrew, numbers are designated by letters, and 18 is written with "khet yod" which are also the spelling of "khai" or life. Thus, when one wishes to make a monetary gift to someone, one does it in multiples of 18, thus wishing them long life.

That is rather a long digression from your beautiful poem.
