Stories meant for children hold a special fascination for me. I really enjoy them though I am no longer a kid. Recently I read The Jungle Book again, The Ugly Duckling will never be stale for me, and Roald Dahl is just superb. I become a little girl again, lost in thrill and wonder, while reading kid's fiction. Have you ever felt like this? Which book(s) for children have you enjoyed most?

With best regards,

Tove Jansson wrote about Moomintrolls. My favourite was Comet in Moominland. Brilliant.

I also like the Dr Doolittle books - inventive. The Wind in the Williows, and the Winnie the Pooh books. Great.

I remember them fondly.

- The one that I remember most was "Where the Red Fern Grows" by Wilson Rawls
- Just So Stories
- Pinnochio

...and the Winnie the Pooh books. Great.

I remember them fondly.

- And of course; Winnie the Pooh. I still have my childhood copy.

The main one to come to mind is Grimm's Fairy Tales (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grimm's_Fairy_Taleshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grimm's_Fairy_Tales). I mean there's just so many great stories here: Cinderella, Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, among many others. While they may not have the wonderous settings of other stories, they have memorable themes and moral features.

Two other big titles for me when I was a bit older were Call of the Wild (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Call_of_the_Wild) and White Fang (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Fang). These were memorable because of the hardships faced by the characters, as well as the setting which I loved.

:iagree: Call of the Wild and White Fang both are among my favorites. I have a copy of both of them.

O yes I too like stories by Enid Blyton. I still treasure the "famous five" stories.
