slish-slosh machine
launder this grime
may wrinkled stains
trapped in
dizzy rinses
be spun free
grey bubbles
gurgle
swirl round
down
drain away
let the cycle
end

I love how you sustain the allusive metaphor throughout the piece. By the time you get to the end those last two lines pack a wallop. Very nice one, Delta.

Yeah, this is a fun piece and nicely achieved.

The rhythm of the short, choppy lines makes this poem work where many others written in a similar free verse style don't! Good stuff.

Nunc Dimittis.

"Lord now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace..."

Shriven of your sins, I hope, your soul whiter than white (and with no stubborn stains). funny how the mind works, late at night. feels like a plea for absolution.

Nice, neat, compact poem which works on multiple levels. Thanks. H
