Happy Birthday, Toni!

An interview with Toni:

Why are we doing this interview thing?
Just keeping up with the Litnet birthday interview tradition.

If you had a personal theme song, what would it be?
It’s been a hard day’s night, and I’ve been working like a dog…..

What makes you keep coming back?
The members

How do you like your home town?
Owing to my father’s job, my family and I always moved around Manila and some provinces growing up so I do not really have a hometown.

What makes you happy?
Discovering something new, creating something new

The biggest surprises of the past year (both pleasant and unpleasant)?
I was on leave from Uni for a whole year and focused on my acting career, landing roles in 2 films. The rest of the unpleasantness -I will blog about it soon, promise.

What has been the the biggest change in your life since your last birthday?
I will blog about it soon, promise.

What is mankind's biggest achievement, and its greatest downfall?
Achievement : Indoor plumbing
Downfall : Religion

Do you feel comfortable in your walk with God/atheism?
I started leaning towards agnosticism last Valentine’s day.

Which actor should play you in a movie based on your life?
I do not want a movie based on my life. I’ll write a movie based on your life instead.

What is your best memory of childhood?
Basically whenever people do things for me ie. Prepare my food, drive me to school, give me money.. Well obviously at my age, I don’t enjoy the advantages of being a kid anymore, haha. But it’s all good, I enjoy being independent.

First thing you would do if you became invisible?
Sneak around people’s houses and raid their bookshelves and refrigerators.

Do you believe in ghosts?
Well yeah, and they are evil!!

What makes you feel great about yourself?
The fact that I’m a pretty decent, hard-working, well-rounded patootie.

How did you meet your significant other?
Never had one of significance!

Who inspires you most?
Family! Friends! Beautiful people!

How free are you?
What does that supposed to mean?

What are you naturally good at? (Skills, abilities, gifts etc.)
I can plumb well..

What type of an author would you be?
a mix of Haruki Murakami’s minimalism, David Sedaris’ wit and Jack Kerouac’s spontaneity (haha really now)

What is the one thing you must do before you die?
Love somebody

If you had to teach something, what would you teach?
English. Actually, I do this already.

Have you studied literature as a subject in college?
This coming semester, I will.

Last dream you remember having?
I dreamt that I became black and white, like in film noir..

What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life?
Hmm..I’d probably regret not giving my absolute 110% best in anything..but I do, so that won’t be a problem.

What do you hope to gain from life?
Knowledge, love and contentment.

What song is in your head at the moment?
Crazy – Gnarls Barkley (excellent song to play on the guitar!) & Sway – The Kooks

Which book are you reading at the moment?
On the Road – Jack Kerouac

The last book you finished reading?
The Shakespeare Miscellany

The best and worst books you have read during last year?
Best: Crime and Punishment
Worst: The Da Vinci Code

What is your favorite smell?
My father’s perfume and my mother’s cooking as well as my mother’s perfume and my father’s cooking.

What time of day do you most often find yourself on the LitNet?
I don’t get on much anymore. Life, you know :(

What is your favorite website besides LitNet?
Youtube.com, Wikipedia.com, pagestopixels.com

First novel you remember reading on your own?
Tess of the D’Urbervilles when I was 14.

Favorite TV shows?
I used to watch series like Glee, Prison Break and BBC’s Merlin

Favorite movie?
mostly Martin Scorcese / Quentin Tarantino + foreign / classic films

Most humorous litnet happening you have witnessed?
I personally find Scher, papayahed & shalot’s posts humorous. I kind of think of them as a trio.

Which LitNet members would you like to meet in person if you could?
I do not want to name names but you know who you all are who have been immensely supportive, lovely and thoughtful to me  + my litnet crushes

Last words you said out loud?
Ugh, I loathe being kissed like that.

Last person you hugged/kissed?
Hug: pillow
Kiss: Francy (Lain)

What do you do (for a living) to be able to keep your LitNet addiction going? And are you happy with your chosen profession?
I’m an ESL tutor / part-time web-content writer / film actress. I’m cool with it, I suppose. I just wish I’d get to travel more.

What question would you like to ask yourself?
Tu est zombie??

What was the happiest period of your life and why?
The period where I was daydreaming of being a hippie in the 60’s.

How often do you tell lies?
Not too often, just to get annoying people off my back

If you could change one thing about the way you look, what would that be?
Lazy eye. I got cross-eyed when I was 3 years old when a (careless, stupid) nanny accidentally dropped me. The doctors fixed my eye but as I grew up, my left eye seems to have a bit of a problem. Just a bit.

Which book do you wish you had written?
Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman ~ Haruki Murakami / Hamlet

What should you be doing at the moment instead of answering these questions?
Studying French or sleeping. Sleeping!! I haven't slept in long awhile.

Are you mostly happy with life or are you still in pursuit?
Making the most of what I’ve got presently.

What will you be doing in the year 2035?
Cheese.

What makes you laugh?
People who don’t realize I’m being sarcastic and Monty Python

Did you answer all of the question?
Did you answer all of the questions?*

One final word of wisdom for LitNet users?
Give.

Haha, William dear friend. Thank you kindly. You've been too good to me. I am much obliged to you.

Bien, victoriafan, Maxmillanius, Haunted, Maryd., and Nikhar, thank you. You are all great.

Uncle Virg, not quite! :willy_nilly: I loved that Beatles' song, by the way. Thank you so much.

Scher, thank you. I sort of admire you, you know.

The Comedian, I'm honored. Thank you!

I had a great day guys, although I had to work on the latter part of my birthday, I spent the rest of it acting like a cat, taking a (well-deserved!) nap, listening to music and bossing my siblings around. Plus I'm nibbling my birthday cake as I type.
