statuesque form
stands in the dock
with no sign of what his
position really is

a prisoner of his own mind
a victim of circumstance
yet ever innocent till
proven guilty

I swallow bitter facts
no burden of proof
is one sandbag short
of a full scale gallows

he grasps freedom
as seed of doubt
builds its own scaffold
and hangs hope by the neck

May we all dangle
in the winds of injustice

Powerful denunciation of the miscarriage of justice!

Very powerful - and I detect his conscience is as much the architect of his punishment as injustice is.

Interesting poem D40. I had a little trouble getting the sense of it as superficially it reads counter intuitively. You have to read it really carefully to get the sense of justice.

Really clever, and well written I think.
