I was looking for something about a short poem by D.H. Lawrence and stumbled on this forum so thought I'd join up and see if I could learn something.
As for literature, I once thought that that if I read everything in sight I'd be well read. I've learned that volume is meaningless. So I have confined my reading, and rereading, to two books and one author: Aristotle's "Ethics," Plato's "Republic," and Shakespeare. I might go back to Cormac McCarthy some day though. I'm hoping someday I'll understand things a little better and maybe even acquire a little wisdom along the way.
Otherwise, I'm pretty much a redneck. U.S. Navy vet. Family from Oklahoma or Texas. Love the outdoors - hunting & fishing, working with my hands (grandfather was a blacksmith, the other was the Texas farmer), rockabilly music, Impressionism, opera, and Gretsch hollowbodies, just to mention a few things.
One unique thing about me is that I own the only bird dog whose snoring sounds like a duel between a tuba and a French horn. Thank God the snow around here has stopped and he can sleep outside for the next 5-6 months!
Oh, I'm running for Superior Court Judge and the election is in 8 days. Should be interesting. I know, too much information.
