I witnessed the dawn this morning...

... and came to think of this poem.

Have you ever went out of bed, stifling a yawn,
With no better reason, than to witness the dawn?
That magical foreplay to a beautiful day,
When the powers of God seem to be on display.
When nothing really appears to make sense,
When the colours assemble for the world to commence.

What do you think?

I love it. You might want to think about posting it in the Personal Poetry section of the forum. The only thing that I would change would be the word "went" in the first line. It should be "gotten." :)

I think this is a "been there" event described very well.

I agree with gimissung on changing went to gotten and then posting in the personal poetry.

I really enjoy simple poems that pack a punch...this one made me remember many sunrises.
