This is my First short story hope you like it. This is a true story aswell.

I remember the day I recieved my first pet. It was guinea pig my aunt couldn't take care of. It was a silly looking thing with short hair the colour of peanuts, little red beety eyes and the funniest feet id ever seen. It was my first pet, and one our family grew to love.
We built her a large cage using an old laundry bin. Cut a hole out and made a ramp so she could run around the house all day or sleep in her little hut, and we gave her alot of attenchion. I find it interesting to say that she lived to be 12.
She used to run around the house nibbling bits of our carpet, chewing the ends of my hair as it dangled across the floor, and even took delight in munching on my rubber buttons from the remote control.
She may have been our first pet but il never forget the day she died, with my mom staying by her side like she was a human. She had a tumour and still managed to be one of the oldest guinea pigs iv ever heard of. We loved her to pieces and as the years past, we finally decided to get a dog.
My best friends black lab had a litter of puppies and I managed to convince my parents to take one home.:willy_nilly: The day she arrived she followed me around the house non stop, whined more than a baby and pooped on the floor countless times. This was definitly harder than i expected, but as we got older together i realized iv made a valuable friend. Shes a bosy little witch that barks in my face when i dont take her out, or stepps on my head when i dont wake up early enough for her standards, but all the work was definitly worth having her company.
I remember the day i got sick to my stomach, lying in bed in agony, throwing up everything and anything that entered my mouth.:puke: She stayed by my side the entire time and didn't leave me alone. Its ammazing what an animal feels for a human, and its ammazing what love we can give to an animal.
I believe that an animals lifespan doesnt depend on the $700 dog food you buy it and the $1200 vet bill you paid to get it every vaccine. I beileve that if they recieve the right amount of attencion and love they can outlive your expectation.
As i write this story she sleeps on my bed beside me, Her pretty golden eyes glancing up every now and again to make sure im still there. We grew up together and even though shes a dog, I feel like shes more of a friend to me than alot of things in this world.:biggrin5:
