Hello, I'm SilentMute. :wave:I'm the daughter of soundofmusic, a member of this forum (don't hold that against me)
I'm 35. I'm training to be a medical coder, so I may not be on much. I have a lot of homework--anatomy, physiology, and coding. Very difficult. I was expecting a basic anatomy course, the type we got in elementary school. Instead, it is very thorough. I know the anatomic name for nose hairs, and I know that people who can drink milk and blow it out their nose have a dysfunctioning soft palate.
Nice to meet you!

Thank you for the welcome! Sorry I didn't reply right away--I forgot to look here. Still learning my way about, though mum is giving me some pointers.
I have been having a good time here already. I used to frequent [I]Tombraider[I] forums, but they are dead most of the time. It is a small community, and the people have known each other for years. I think they are a little bored with each other. And gamers are into gaming mostly.
The anatomic name for nose hairs is cilia.

Another piece of valuable info. I feel that if I keep talking to you I will become an anatomy geek... well... close to one :D

Great intro title! :D welcome on board! Ladies toilets are up the stairs to the "anyone for coffee, no boys allowed" tower and on the left of the budda bag tea room. :)

Nice to meet you. Your Mum frequents the Cold Ale thread too and joins in with us blokes discussing everything from the uses of that spray foam stuff to aliens.:biggrin5:

 good one!
Hi SilentMute, I am also becoming a good friend of your mother's. I didnt' know until now you were her daughter. I actually just noticed you in her profile friend's list and looked at your profile and album...nice photos of you. I love pigtails....you are very pretty. Good for you helping out after Katrina. I am feeling badly now for the people on the gulf coast who may be encountering that awful oil spill. Makes me sick to think of it.
I love your introduction. I am sure you will enjoy this site. My son is near your age...he is 37. Welcome to the forum!

Thank you, everybody! I've been enjoying myself tremendously!
I plan to gradually look around. I have to be careful how much time I spend here, because I do have a lot of homework. I may not frequent forums my mom is on since generally I find that it is better if we have our own friends--not that I discourage those of you who are her friends from talking to me. Mom and I have different interests and personalities. She often shares her posts on Cold Ale, which often I don't get. I'm not exactly a girlie-girl...but generally I've always been one to leave guy clubs to the guys. Mom prefers to hang out with guys because usually she doesn't get along with women.
Thank you, Janine! Mom has said some nice things about many of her friends. I had to clean up after Hurricane Wilma (which struck on mom's birthday)--mom isn't in good enough shape to. That photo was taken when most of the work was done--but you should have seen it before. We could barely get out our front door because of the debris. Of course, it is pleasant to be out after a hurricane. It is usually very nice weather. I learned in my physical science class that hurricanes are how Mother Nature cools off the planet--which is why we will supposedly have more with global warming. I haven't minded them as much since learning that. I didn't mind hurricanes exactly--what is more annoying is how people react to them.
The oil spill is unfortunate, but it has happened before. I'm sure it will get taken care of. While I believe in protecting the planet, I also realized that Earth is a plucky old gal who finds ways of maintaining herself despite the stupidity of her inhabitants.
