Contemplate
I can not help but
be vexed when I allow my
mind to search through this situation
that we as a nation
can not escape

Ignorance is bliss
yes I've heard
but such a view point
will turn this hole noun
into a verb

Falling,
(its a play on words)

who is watching the watchmen?
you laugh with your ill informed smirk
just look at the conception of its very birth

Feb 17, 1973
The adviser approaches Nixon
he begins his speech:
"I've gone into it with great depth with Edgar Kaiser,
Its going to be a private organization for profit"

Silently Nixon listens
his corrupt tongue ready
to lay his country men in coffins

advisor: "because the less care they give them
the more money they make"

less than 3 seconds time
we hear his reply
dropping lower and middle class America
from a two story building
on its neck with on word:
"Fine"

its a sick and scary
thought when mens minds
have been caught between
the rails of nickels and dimes

I reminisce on Upton Sinclair's
THE JUNGLE
our movements towards the
crevasse are all but subtle

listen, do not be quiet
do not lie down
powerful selfish men
should be stripped of their crown
and surplus loot

for such a revolution is my idea of a refute

A very profound message, conveyed with masterful economy.

Verse 8 is a killer.

From this side of the water all I can add is to agree wholeheartedly with your sentiment -
it is a 'caring nation's duty' to look after its sick and infirm regardless of the size of their wallets.

This is one of those rare cases when somebody here attempts an impassioned political point of view. Well done!

Good expression. This is a sign of the times, worldwide.

We accept the verdict of the past until the need for change cries out loudly enough to force upon us a choice between the comforts of inertia and the irksomeness of action.

I'm not much of a follower of politics, but I can recognize passion when I see it. And I really like the sort of progression of the events, like how . . . I'm sorry, it's late, or actually early and my words are failing me. I'm not exactly sure how I want to describe what I like about this poem. All I know is that is has this vague and elusive quality that really brings it alive. Sorry, I can't be more specific, but I do like it a lot.
