So, do you drink coffee or tea? Isn't that just 'drinking liquid out of a bowl'?
みそ (miso) is my most consumed soup, but other than that I like carrot and coriander, broccoli and stilton, cream of tomato, and any really hearty soup with big chunks of vegetables and thick, stewy broth. Yum. I also sometimes make a soup called 'Tom's chicken soup', which is a cream based soup with potatoes, onions, chicken and bacon. More yum :)

Cream of mushroom and potato and leek!
Also, I make a homemade soup, in which I use veggie broth, loads of garlic, finely chopped green onion, bok choy, various veggies to your liking, various spices to your liking, cream and/or water, tofu (or meat, if you are a meat eater like I am, again, haha). Yum!

Niamh
04-20-2010, 06:10 PM
haha no. I've only seen what that is now. never heard of it. I'd actually read it as mole and went " I hope she's not on about actualy moles!" :p I had it in my fridge to take for lunch and all this talk of soup reminded me so i brought it to work this morning... unfortunately it exploded in the microwave and then attacked me when i tried to take it out. Ended up trying to clean both the microwave and stop bloodflow from my figer at the same time. needless to say it took a lot longer than expected.

well, it has ground beef, corn kidney beans, chiles, diced tomatoes and taco seasoning. Make it in the crockpot and serve with tortilla chips crunched up in it. It's really good. When you're tired of chili, just have taco soup!
Now mole soup. Not good.
And no soup thread would be complete without a soup joke:
Q. what'd you have for breakfast?

Leek and pea. (I see a possible variation on Shalot's soup joke here....)
Thai Chicken soup - made with coconut cream - mmmmmm.
Health-in-a-bowl - an Anthony Worrell Thompson recipe, full of root vegs, pearl barley, greens, chicken or ham if you want it -filling and sustaining.

In Mexico, the undisputed national sauce is mole, an intoxicating blend of chocolate, chiles, garlic, onions and nuts and so much more.

We are unused to the processed tomato in packets, but we are very used to processed chicken - crisps, boil-in the bag, curried, vesta meals, Goblin chicken stew, chicken pies, dried, dessicated...

Yeah, OP, that does sound delicious, and I haven't even had my jaw wire shut for six weeks.
On the other hand, Sher, yours also sounds tasty. I think I'm feeling a little peckish about now, and unfortunately there's just not much in my cupboard.
On the downside, I would hate hating a chicken broth based soup . I adore Ramen; is there a cheaper, tastier way to pass a cold, broke winter's eve?

On the other hand, Sher, yours also sounds tasty. It turned out all right though it was not as thich as it was supposed to be (should have added more corn floured).
Next time, I will make some lentil soup.
Which reminds me... What happened to our LSL thread?
