I follow you lord with all my heart,
so i shall kill others in your name.
I will be the officer who enforces the laws,
even if they are unlawful themselves.
I will be the jurry who convicts those before me,
even if they did nothing wrong.
I will also be the executioner,
even if being so means I sin.
All this I do in your name oh lord.
Amen.

Well, Moses's generalissimo, Joshua, at
Jerico, under orders, slaughtered babies
amd women.

I never understood that.

Here's what should have happened.

"Hey Josh, go into Jerico and see if
there are any Texas Hold'em poker games
going. If so, put me on the list. I am
anxious to play a little after all those
years wandering around in the desert.

No one gets slain, only a card toss when
someone gets beaten on the river when he
held pocket Aces.

A few grammatical comments. First, on line 2 it might be good to capitalize "i." On line 5 "jurry" needs only 1 r.

And here is one thing to think about (it's not a poetic critique but a historical one): it seems to me that the history indicates that the Crusaders were only nominally religious; they probably weren't much more down with God than Bertrand Russel; what motivated them was lust for wealth, glory, rape, and pillage. On the fourth crusade the crusaders decided to spend the night in Constantinople; they then decided to loot the city, call it a crusade, and go home.

The inquisition, on the other hand, was a different story....
