experiencing a close friend pass away is not pleasant however it is even more so if that friend takes their own life.

My dearest of friend, who took a key aspect
To life. Not only of yours but of mine.
Your inequality was emphasised by your sadness
An open forum of public discrimination. But to let the blood.
Drip from your colourless lips now and swinging like the swing,
That filled our childhood memories.
You swing to side like a pendulum of death
As the breeze moves your weightless body. How could you
Be so thoughtless, that you do this. The raw wounds on your wrists
Only cut not long ago and the scars between your legs.
You showed so much love and care towards all, the warmth now drained.
Icy cold and unbearable to touch. That rope that holds you so tightly
The rope that caught your fall when no one wanted you caught
Acted upon by the fear felt from this world and the hatred you felt
But we did not see.

I found this particularly touching having had a cousin take her own life many years ago.

You express very economically the balance of sorrow and rage often felt by those of us that remain (although in my case it was still seen very much as a taboo that was better not spoken about).

I believe you have done justice to your friend's memory with a very evocative poem -
'The rope that caught your fall when no one wanted you caught'
is a particularly plaintive line.

Thank you for sharing it

this is beautiful in its sadness.

This gave me an intense chill and shivers as I read it. I looooove poems that do that.

Just wonderful. I'm sorry for your loss as well.

This must have been very difficult to write, so it's nicely done and the emotion is well controlled.

I agree with hillwalker about this line being particularly moving

The rope that caught your fall when no one wanted you caught
And there's also a rather chilling double-meaning to this line

How could you
Be so thoughtless,
A brave poem. I lost a close friend a few years ago and feel I should write something, but have never found the right way to express it. Well written.

thankyou to all of you for your thoughts. it is something that i feel is becoming to common and is still a subject that many people i know will not talk about and are in denial of the epidemic which it is becoming. It is hard to conjure up something like this - but i just simple used my raw emotions and it simply came to me. thankyou all again
