Passion Lead Astray

A haze of smoke lingered
in the air, curling up
among the spectral glamour
which flashed in swirling
hues of bright color,
in the rhythm of the dusky
music, signing a chorus
to the night.

Those souls who gather
in this oasis of
Eden's delight, when
a figure alighted,
caught in the headlights
of wanting gaze.

She appeared as a vision,
a dream in smoke,
the speculative temptation
of an offered back,
elegance enshrouded in
sensual appeal, following
the curve of the neck
beneath a line of obsidian
hair, with a glistening shine.

Her curves outlined
beneath a sheave of satin
which clung delectably
to her every fraction,
a beauty divine, stirring
the blood in animal attraction.

Suave, debonair, the hunter
glides in to make the kill,
with the slightest inflection
that Venus of flesh inclines
her head and eyes meet,
a shock like a jolt of
electricity in the surprise
that his Goddess of Love
was no Dame at all,

but it cannot be denied
he was the prettiest lady
at the ball after all.

A poem of passion, fire, desire, obsession, imagination. A blend of beauty and sensibility. Here sensuousness marries with aesthetic excellence. With this striking fusion I don't think passions lead astray

the way in which you express the female figure's elusive expression of emotions is very moving and meaningful

Very seductive writing - and what a punch-line! Artistic and alluring, yet with your tongue firmly in your cheek right at the end. So clever.

one little quibble :-(

so many people mis-spell 'led' (as 'lead')
forgive my being picky but
it's a pet hate of mine
