here's a few poems i've scrawled in my notebook lately.

Howling in the canyons
the canyon walls
stone cliffs
clean rock
and the echo.

*

i often think of the dead
and imagine them being led
into a beautiful palace
with nothing beyond
its walls.
the windows are mirrors,
reflecting death back into the room.

*

Debt used to be a crime
now it is an inevitability.

*

everything on television at the moment
seems to be cheapening our existence. Advertisements
achieve their aims of selling a product, but
they do so at the expense of society. We are
portrayed as worthless, thoughtless, comical
characters in our own little show.

"Scrawling" is healthy exercise! I particularly liked the 2nd & 4th of these, More power to your notebook.

Nice set of aphorisms, breathtest.

For future ones, see if you can make them chime, breathe some music and poetry into them...

Prince. Thanks so much, and yes i agree that just writing little thoughts in a notebook can be hugely stimulating and is good for practising your writing. Plus its so fun.

Jersea. i love to see your comments on my posts, thank you

Blank Verse. I'll keep that in mind.

In fact we are hoodwinked and of course by the state thru variants of enslavement, by society thru impositions of different regulations, by business entities thru their mindboggling advertisement chain and we are simply thrown bogusly and yes your poem simply reflects the predicaments we are hemmed in. A beautiful presentation.

I always love to check back on the previous pages to retrieve sth (if not all) worthy that escaped my attention for whatever reasons. Like your above "scrawlings" of which the second is the most striking to me. For the reasons described in the fourth, I never open the TV! Humans are deeper, more interesting etc... than what is shown of and to them... (who knows, maybe in an attempt to nullify their brains and thus control better...)
Thanks a lot. And best rgds - Bar

Bar22do: your thoughts about the fourth piece are exactly what i was thinking, there is a lot more to us than what is portrayed.
