That's very easy with a factual approach, as summed up by Niamh - dinosaurs are millions of years older than humans and there is an enormous wealth of factual literature available throughout every library and university in the world to show that this is the case.

From geology to paleontology to physics to mathematics, it is demonstrable that dinsosaurs lived immensely long before humans.

As long as the bible refers to dinosaurs metaphorically, there is no problem at all.

If the bible is produced as any kind of evidence that humans and dinosaurs coexisted, then the bible or its interpretation is simply incorrect, because dinosaurs aren't compatible with the bible.

The more liberal religions in the world - i.e. almost all of them - accept these facts and treat the bible as allegorical in terms of timeline.

Why don't you accept Eden as part of Jewish mithology?

It is obvious and well known that all animals came from dinosaurs. So they couldn't travel with Noa because they didn't exist in that form any more.
Also, 6 days creation has many ''errors'' and even Rome is not neglecting Darwin's theory and Darwin is probably correct.

If we all can accept Zeus, Hera, Hefest as Gods and probably nobody believes in mud/magic Zeus's breath equals humans theory, why can't you accept same thing in Bible? Slavs, Germans, Nordics, Romans...they all have their mithology, first mens and Gods and nobody attacks them, probably because they didn't write Bible. Just accept that as mithology and many Bible credibility problems will be solved.

Sound easy, I know!

I don't understand the question...

Although, not all animals came from dinosaurs. Mammals and dinosaurs share a common ancestor, but the ancestors of mammals was not a dinosaur. Birds technically are the only extent members of the dinosaur clade, but in a colloquial sense they are descended from dinosaurs rather than dinosaurs themselves. So, the only living descendants of dinosaurs are birds.

I really don't understand these threads either Pip, but from what I understand not all biologists have closed the deal on the dino/bird line, although the evidence leans that way.

If I ever find an online community where adults can engage in a rational fashion without the Christian family values kids come here police, I will send you an invitation, because it seems like some adults in this forum prefer behaving like kids, more or less.

The way I read this, bazarov is saying, Look, no one gives Danes a hard time for Thor and Valhalla - why can't Adam and Eve be seen in a similar light?

But I think it's a non-argument, because - as quoted - Atheist is saying that as long as Eden is seen as a metaphor, there's no problem. Which fulfils bazarov's proposition.

The problem only comes when people present the bible as hard evidence of whatever it is they think it's hard evidence of. And neither Atheist or bazarov are doing that. So I don't think there's a conflict here.

Not that that'll stop us.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Correct

I don't understand the question...

I'd guess Baz meant "before" rather than from.

He's one of those damned foreigners!
