( The best I could do with this killer writer's block )

I can't even express
My very desires,
Am I trying to hard?
Or Simply inspired.

Inspired so deeply
That I'm still in shock,
In shock of the present
And past I have lost.

But lost in good cheer
I'm so glad its gone,
Allowing tomorrow
A much deeper song.

And I'll sing with a vengeance
For now I am healed,
And held in this hand
Is a true heart I wield.

But wielding it not
For just any soul,
One that inspired
My dry hope to grow.

And growing it will
Restore what I was,
When I was a child
So free and so young.

I say this to you
Not to impress,
but simply to say
You've inspired my best.

I've sometimes wondered whether we writers don't flatter ourselves by having a "block" uniquely our own. After all, we don't hear of runners' block, when they line up at the starting point, the pistol goes off - and they remain kneeling there. we don't hear of bankers' block, when they simply cannot sign a loan contract or send out a debit memo.

Why are we so special? (And so especially cursed?)

My congratulations, however, for doing so well with this.

I think it has something to do with art in general. People who paint and draw have the same issue. Writer's block is just more common to hear about.
