View Full Version : Power's Pain

Through misery grew a man
Of pride and selfless heart,
In which was used to please
The bitter, blind and tart.

He felt to great avail
When his arms would wide,
He's given one to hold
His loving, rustic pride.

But surely came a day
Stressed with power's pain,
Reverting to a child
His selflessness would strain.

When that day did come
No one knew the truth,
He gave up on his loves
And settled for abuse.

Well written but it leaves one with an incredible feeling of lonesomeness and sorrow...

Is he being abused or is he the abuser?

Well construct poem.

Great rhyme, craftsmanship, and mood setting. Pretty vague and mysterious as far as specifics go. It sounds like you have something very important to say with this one. Troll those dangerous waters and pull it out for us.
