Today it Happened 1,977 years ago
Sitting and watching the full Moon.
What fatal tragedy befell us all?
On the month Nisan, they murdered Him.
Just to keep the rest of them quiet.
We can’t have in insurrection against Rome.
!, 977 years ago they took His life.
April 3rd 33A.D,
a full moon, then an Eclipse.
I laugh at them because, He came back to life.

Well, few historic events are still so present today. The Last Supper, as you're probably aware was Jesus and his disciples celebrating the traditional Passover seder, commemorating the exodus from Egypt. You've reminded us of this extra dimension to it. And if you'll pardon my intrusion on your space, here's a poem I wrote (& likely posted earlier):
Tell Me, Jesus
Tell me, Jesus, which hurt more?
When you saw the rich oppress the poor?
Or the saints who barred the sinners at the temple door?
Tell me, Jesus, which hurt more?
When they offered the rabble in the yard
the root or the corrupted leaf
and they cried out: “Give us the thief!”
Tell me, Jesus, was death the sharper pain,
or having to rise, to rise again?

I do have a response to this but out of respect for the original poster, I suggest that you and I step outside to settle this.
Pardon me, Maureen - I now hand the microphone back to any other poster who might care to comment on YOUR poem.

What a loving tribute. I like these lines best:
"Sitting and watching the full Moon.
What fatal tragedy befell us all?"

Quarter Moon, I can see what PM is getting at: In commenting on his poem, one which I have not seen before and which I think is rather good, my choice of words has been constured to be disparaging of yours. For this I apologise as it was not my intent. It is apparant that your faith is an integral element of your daily life, not only from this poem but from others you have posted.
As others have observed, you have conjured some stirking images. My only criticism would be that the poem reads a little brokenly, you have distilled your thoughts into a sccession of expressions, which for me at least, feel disjointed. I understand that this may have been your intention but please consider whether it might be improved by a more coherent flow.

You say so much with so few words! I am reminded of a minister I once heard who said more in 15 minutes that others could accomplish in over an hour. Well done!
