Help with the name of a short story

I've been googling for over an hour now - trying to remember the name of a short story I read. It was for an Eastern European literature class, and it was about a woman who is told she is being rewarded for her good ideas (turns out she is being banished by the Soviets). She has all her possessions taken away and trades them for things like soap, boots, etc.

Anyone have any idea? I'm at a loss.
