I just find it really funny - I haven't been on here for a day or two, and suddenly at least seven regulars have changed their avatar. I sniff conspiracy here! Is it something in the air?

Indeed (http://online-literature.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51873)

Maybe L.M. isn't aware of some of our social events, often started by Scher on certain weekends :D As toni linked, we are having a social event this very weekend

Thankyou toni and Maximalianus! Was this in the forum newsletter? Maybe I should be reading it and checking out events! Well, I'm off to find my princess avatar!

That is the purpose of Avatar, to change to be something else ;-)

LOL - you're right! I'm currently Mary, Queen of Scots, so not exactly a saint (but not a witch either).
I was just rather confused when some of the guys popped up with more 'girly' avatars! I guess I should have gotten the princess connection - but I didn't know most of the princesses.

Mary, Queen of Scots = Excellent choice!

Where do you find the forum newsletter? Oops, I just said that news was over-rated  - but Lit Net news doesn't count...

(I'm not dressing up as a Princess though, I have certain standards to keep up...) :)

You're making me laugh, Neely! Come-on, the other guys are doing it! Anyways, I'm pretty sure the forum newsletter gets posted as a blog, once a month. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong!

Was this in the forum newsletter? The Forum Newsletter is posted as a blog but this (or other events we arranged) did not appear in the Newsletter. They are mostly spontenous, which is part of the fun, I think.
(I'm not dressing up as a Princess though, I have certain standards to keep up...) :)Shame... I think you would have made an excellent Cinderella...

PS: Even Brian is playing along! :eek2:

Oh right, I've found the Newsletter, I hardly ever look at the blogs bit. I'm not budging on the Princess bit though...:nonod:

It is a strange thing though research has shown that most men use girly avatars online. They also use female game characters.

What does that suggest?

The men secretly want to be woman? ;-)

Interesting detail http://smiles.kolobok.us/artists/just_cuz/JC_thinking.gif I can swear I have never used a girly avatar, though I must admit my on-line life to be rather new... and I can always be swearing in vain, as it is what men often do http://smiles.kolobok.us/artists/mother_goose/MG_121.gif
