Script Frenzy (http://www.scriptfrenzy.org/), an informal challenge to "write 100 pages of original scripted material in the 30 days of April, (screenplays, stage plays, TV shows, short films, and graphic novels are all welcome)," is right around the bend. Anyone planning to participate?
I participated in National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo) for the first time last November; Script Frenzy is run by the same crew. It recently occurred to me, "Hey, I'm not doing anything special in April, so might as well try my hand at writing a 'screenplay.'" Well actually, my friends and I have had this idea of a sketch (comedy) show rattling amongst ourselves. We cam up with some funny ideas but of course no one took the initiative to actually write some scripts.
What about you? Any concrete plans about what you're going to write for Script Frenzy? Have you had a plan rattling around up there that you hope to finally bring to fruition? Or, is this your first time hearing of it?
For many participants, I imagine, this competition will be their first attempt at writing a script -- at least it is for me. I am completely ignorant of proper formating and techniques. Just remember, Abras, "Fade out" means go grab a hot dog.
Looking forward to hearing from you...
