What do you expect?
To gain from your life,
When the social door knocks
And you run out of sight.

I wish I could free you
If just for a day,
From your barbed wire fence
Keeping vocals at bay.

Then maybe you'd see
Whats to gain from a chat,
And pursue your desires
To love, lust and dance.

And one day you'll find
The chance thrown and missed,
Was larger than sounds
Of silence in mist.

it's got a jaunty quality that I like very much but "then" in the next to last line should be than.
