So I have to write an essay on this book, and I decided my thesis to be:
Sal's change of perspective towards the West is important because...(fill in the blank)

For the missing blank I was thinking of arguing that this change of perception initiates his more critical perspective towards the life on the road in general and his friendship with Dean Moriarity.
I plan to elaborate about his initial glorification of the West compared to NY and then his change of view when he was in LA...then the disillusionment of him towards Dean starts to grow....til the end where he settles down for a more traditional life in NY......but somehow I need to link these examples in the novel to my thesis.

Just wondered what your thoughts are on the thesis and how I could make my arguments stronger.
