I was listening to a lecture Ray Bradbury gave the other day on youtube, and he suggested an English writer named John Collier. Not being in the least familiar with the guy, I've decided to head over hear to LitNet in hopes of finding somebody who knows a bit more about him.
Has anybody read him? Is he any good? Or better yet, who does he remind you of?
PS. I've read the wiki page on the guy so please don't feel like I'm asking somebody to research him for me. I'm just curious if anybody has a more subjective evaluation of him.

I've not heard of Collier, but Bradbury is a character.
I got to meet him last year (or was it the year before?) and he told us that he remembered his birth. He was quite the mystic and I was very interested in his outlook on the future and technology.

If you like him, you ought to check out the youtube video "An Evening with Ray Bradbury" it's from 2000-2001 something like that, so he's still in pretty good shape since it's before his stroke. It's kind of long (1 hr-ish) but it's a mix of him recounting stories and making suggestions for future writers. A little out there, but good stuff.

Collier as I recollect wrote strange horror stories and I think he may have been a writer of screenplays. I realise that this thread is old but no one seems to have answered Illini. I wouldn't call Collier my cup of tea!
