Proof-read my Italian.

I have a minor writing task coming up at school in Italian, basically just describing myself.
I wrote a draft, something I can try to remember for the writing task, and as far as I'm concerned much of it is probably wrong.
I don't know much Italian, basically just what I've written there.
If anyone can speak it, if they could point out to me where I've messed up, I'd appreciate it. Thank you!!

Buongiorno. Mi chiamo Frances. Nata e` sei di Aprile. La mia nazionalita` e` italiano e greca. Ho tredici anni. Nella terzia media. Mi piace la scuola e molto intelligente. Sono cappelli e occhi marroni. Ho madre, si chiama Mary. Lei piace scrive. Ho padre e fratello. Ho animali domestici, ma non mi piace animali molti. Ho un cane, si chiama Honey, un gatto, si chiama Tequila, un ragno, si chiama Stanely e un’uccello. Mi piace la spiagga ma non mi piace nuoto. Mi piace leggere il libro. Mi piace mangiare il gelato e il pizza. Mi piace la musica, suono il French Horn. Mi piace la musica duf-duf. Mi piace l’automobile molto veloce ma non mi piace accidente. Madre e io molto piacciate ballare. Non faccio bicicletta, non mi piace molto. Mi definisco leale, simpatico e alto.

You're not a native speaker? Eh, it makes only too much sense. I've only instensely studied Italian for just over a year and a half. I think half of that I'd just forgotten.

I've got the oral tomorrow, written on Thursday. So yesh... I must remember this.

Nella terzia media - I couldn't find another way to say it. I mean, there isn't an Italian word for year nine at school, I just sort of rounded it off to middle-ish school.

Far from it; it does, however, happen to be my fourth favourite Romance language. :smilewinkgrin: At any rate, for listening/reading comprehension you can check out the Rai Italia (http://www.rai.it/dl/portale/homeRai.html) website for various media options (news, TV, radio) in Italian, if you can stomach Italian-brand entertainment, that is. :wink5:

Ahaa…I think it’s just called ‘scuola media’. Of course, another option would be to take the really easy way out and say ‘sono una studentessa’, and leave it at that. :D

Hehe, that’s not to say that I speak all four fluently or anything, but I shall gracefully accept the compliment all the same. :wink5: As for French (my second favourite :brow:), the BBC has a French program, BBC Afrique (http://www.bbc.co.uk/french/) (the written French being perfectly standard, although you might hear some patois in the interviews); you might also want to try France Télévisions (http://www.francetelevisions.fr/) which offers a host of channels to peruse at you leisure, all being slightly less abysmal than their Italian counterparts to boot.

Oh thank you, that's fantastic. I'm grounding myself with 30mins-1hour each night in French grammar until further notice, more at the weekends. Hopefully at that rate by this time next century I'll be farily competent in French...:)
