What is your "deadly" sin? And why?
Mine is probably sloth, I can be pretty lazy sometimes...

Being a sixteen year old boy, lust is definitely one of my "sins" :D
Sloth, yeah, especially since it derives from the Latin word acedia which could also mean apathy or melancholy.
One that was later substituted was tristitia that is, discontent or sadness, which then was varied into acedia. If that was on the list I'd pick it.

Hehe (waiting for litnet user Satan to say he's "proud of you".)
EDIT: Since I've been indulging in chocolate all day, I should've also checked off gluttony :D

Speaking of tonight I am only guilty of three: Sloth, pride and lust, but generally I am a sinner. :)

Haha, funny how we all check off "lust." I don't think that it's a sin... it's our natural human inclination. Mating and reproduction is the purpose and method of life.
I also checked off "wrath" and "pride."

Well, almost all of these so-called "sins" are natural human inclination. Of course some are bad and some are not bad at all. I suppose of all seven, envy bothers me the most.

sloth, definitely I am very lazy. the best job I have had was babysitting a puppy and didn't have to do anything except take him out to pee every now and then.. I also worked in a museum and there were like one or two customers a day and most of them were kids or over 60 and didn't have to pay, I just hung around reading or staring at the ceiling, loved it.

Wrath and pride. I'm smarter than everyone, damn it, and I get ticked off when people don't acknowledge it. :p :p I'm somewhat kidding, but there is an element of truth in there.

Well, I'm a 48 year old man and it's still one of mine. But I manage to control it I think.

Hi-fives!! :arf::lol::drool5:;)
I ticked off wrath.
That means that I like to overpower people in ways like... Blackmail? Eh, it is for there own good. Like how parents don't let you do things that are fun but it is for you own good, that is what I do to people.
Mine are probably just wrath, pride and lust.
Although I can justify them all...
I use (idk, do I use it?) my wrath for other peoples own good.
Pride - I've got a lot to be proud of, I think.
Lust - yer.

Clicked "wrath", but should've done pride as well. I'm not only angry, I'm always right, of course. :)

Mine is wrath -- when I get mad, I get tactical and plotting.

I could have gone for wrath, sloth and gluttony as well as pride but i figured everything stems from my pride.
Its my pride that can make me get very angry and turn me from calm nice Niamh to screaming angry not nice Niamh. But bouts of extreme wrath can tire me out and then i just get really lazy and do nothing but lazy around cause i couldnt be arsed to do anything else but eat... which is where the gluttony comes in. :p Then the guilt kicks in and i end up appologising for getting angry even if there was a valid reason for the anger, and then scold myself for being lazy and a glutton and start being nice and loving again because i really dont like hurting people... until someone gets on the wrong side of me and the whole cycle starts again. :p

At least it's not senseless violence! Tactical wrath sounds like a sweet gift!
Mine is probably gluttony. I overeat, over-drink, over-sleep, and over-use. I still get by ok.

Looking at the list I wonder...
Do you think there should be other "sins" added to this list today? Or do you think they cover everything?

I think it more or less covers all of the bad things in the world. The problem that I run in to is that we all exhibit some of these characteristics to some degree. I would say that my sin is wrath, but do I really think that my anger is to the point that I consider it a sin :nonod: I haven't done anything to terrible with it other than be cranky and take out my moodiness on unwilling victims.
At what point do these fairly typical traits pass into the point of being sinful? We're told to go forth and procreate, so at what point does lust become a sin, or when does striving to be the best turn in to greed?

I'm surprised at how many people picked sloth. Is that a new generation failing or are the results skewed because we're all a bunch of lazy internet addicts?

Apparently, if the poll is to be believed, most of us spend our time lazing around swinging between moments of rage and pits of lust. Oh, and we seem to be quite proud about it too.

Mine is sloth - on the days I'm lazy - which are far, far too many.
Pride. True, I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I'm so proud of. I've given up the delusive idea that I have above-average talent. When I figure my pride out then I'll really have something to be proud of!
Lust. Or do those of us under 30 have the right to call it hormones? Oh, yes, someone's going to take issue with the age. Just picked it.

Pride.
Anyone going for a Ph.D. in literature (as I am) has to be slightly arrogant. But I'm in good company; Dante himself suffered from pride in Purgatorio. :D
