this is adapted from A Potrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce as our school assignment , we were asked to convert an extract of the prose into a poetry and this is what i have done and i would be very appreciative of any comments you can give and glad to answer any questions you may have in this regard. haha

Title: Evening's past
Almost evening,
A long rivulet:
Time by you waded onwards,
Wonder why
Seaweed drifts,
Neath current,
Sway and turn.

Long rivulet:
Dark with endless drift,
Mirror the clouds high-drift.
Above,
Silently, silently
Below the sea tangle drifts
Below, the air,
Grey warm and still,
Sing In your veins
A new wild life.
Rivulet:
Amidst waste of wild air and brackish waters,
Sea-harvest of shells and tangle,
Veiled grey sunlight,
Gay clad light clad
Figures of children and girls,
Childish and girlish,
Their Voices In the air,
You remain close
To wild heart of life:
Alone,Unheeded,Happy

this is my first time working seriously on a poem and i admit i am not good

I've yet to read the book but I'm a big fan of Joyce's poetic prose form what I have read and I think this really shows how easily he converts to poetry.
