I'm about to begin the Complete Poems of Anne Sexton. I understand that she is somewhat blunt when it comes to the female body. Other than that, I know very little about her. Is her poetry worthy of my time, or is it really "workshop poetry" as I've heard people say? I don't want to invest my time into something that is generally considered "poor poetry." Any advice?

Anne Sexton wrote confessional poetry similar to Sylvia Path, but not as well crafted.

She's a polarizing figure like Plath, some people adore her while others hate her. Personally, I'm not all that fond of her but you should give her a try, it doesn't take all that much time to read a little bit of her poetry.
