This short story seems to fit into the literature category. There seems to be symbolism apparent in the story, for example, the tiara. Doesn't the tiara represent dominion? In addition, one major point of significance is that after the residents of Innsmouth unite with the sea creatures, their children are affected, and the same choice does not exist for them. They are forced to be the new creation.

That is a form of bondage or dominion I think, and that is why the tiara is probably a symbol. I don't know for sure, but that is what I would look at as a symbol.

In this story there is the beginning of an aquatic theme with references such as, "old man Marsh" and the "Gillman House".

I'm seeing in Lovecraft the recurring theme of paganism as a form of physical transformation.

I have an outline going in the writing section, and a link to the story Online. Okay, there is so much more to this story, I think that there is a discussion around it. Anyway, this is why that this must be classed as literature, or am I wrong? Of course this is just a child's interpretation.

The aquatic theme continued: It could be said that the narrator was lured and or slowly reeled in like a fish as the story proceeds.

....and perhaps that is why there was an attraction to the trinkets, which had puzzled me. In relation of fish or fishing using lures.

Well the story is full of mystery. So if I were to analyze and review the story I would take the perspective of describing horror as revelation, which basically sounds like classic horror, or gothic horror.

What comes to mind in the horror literature is that they are beautiful when they are being read, the words feel so natural, than when the reading is done, the book itself disappears into thin air. That is perfection.
