He quickly put the soup into his pocket and moved towards the checkout.
His heart was bumping heavily, but when Marcy said “I´m feeling so dizzy”, he knew what to do and grabbed her tiny cold hand even harder.
But in the same moment someone started shouting: “Stop! You´re a shoplifter!”
A shop assistant stood before them, fishing his mobile phone out of his trousers.
“I´ll call the police”, he said maliciously. David felt sick and Marcy started crying.

The situation was desperate and he knew that perfectly well. Just when he was about to say some pathetic excuse a woman appeared.
“Don´t,” she told the assistant very sharply.
“Don´t. I will pay!”
She sounded so determined that he really stopped.
He only muttered: “Do you want them to get away with that?”
But she already had pushed them to the checkout.

Outside she wrote an address clumsily on a slip of paper.
“St. Pancras Church Charity – Holborn Rd. 34”, it said.
“It´s around the corner. There you can get a hot meal. And you can talk to Mr. Tayler the social worker.”

Before David could say anything she had disappeared into the crowds of people on the pavement.

This is only a bit of a piece, I feel. But it's a tasty bit. Thanks for the taste.

A moment of desperation leading to an amazing yet simple miracle. I enjoyed the story very much, it shows how a small and seemingly simple gesture of human kindness can save the needy and down hearted from a life full of dispair.

The kindness in your short story touched me deeply, yet it cheered me up for another morning. Life is a co-existence, sharing makes the world a good place. Thanks for your story.

wow.
I don't know what it is about simplicity, you really have something here, whether it be ongoing or if it is as simple as a snippit of humanity 'gone right' for once.

I do like these stories from time to time, and I'm happy to say today is one of those times.

thanks mate for sharing.
