4:14 And whoso disobeyeth Allah and His messenger and transgresseth His limits, He will make him enter Fire, where he will dwell for ever; his will be a shameful doom.

4:18 The forgiveness is not for those who do ill-deeds until, when death attendeth upon one of them, he saith: Lo! I repent now; nor yet for those who die while they are disbelievers. For such We have prepared a painful doom.

4:37 For disbelievers We prepare a shameful doom;

4:42 On that day those who disbelieved and disobeyed the messenger will wish that they were level with the ground, and they can hide no fact from Allah.

4:56 Lo! Those who disbelieve Our revelations, We shall expose them to the Fire. As often as their skins are consumed We shall exchange them for fresh skins that they may taste the torment. Lo! Allah is ever Mighty, Wise.

4:74 Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward.

4:76 Those who believe do battle for the cause of Allah; and those who disbelieve do battle for the cause of idols. So fight the minions of the devil. Lo! the devil's strategy is ever weak.

4:89 They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them,

4:91 Ye will find others who desire that they should have security from you, and security from their own folk. So often as they are returned to hostility they are plunged therein. If they keep not aloof from you nor offer you peace nor hold their hands, then take them and kill them wherever ye find them. Against such We have given you clear warrant.

4:101 In truth the disbelievers are an open enemy to you.

5:33 The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom;

5:36 As for those who disbelieve, lo! if all that is in the earth were theirs, and as much again therewith, to ransom them from the doom on the Day of Resurrection, it would not be accepted from them. Theirs will be a painful doom.

5:37 They will wish to come forth from the Fire, but they will not come forth from it. Theirs will be a lasting doom.

5:41 O Messenger! Let not them grieve thee who vie one with another in the race to disbelief, of such as say with their mouths: "We believe," but their hearts believe not, and of the Jews: listeners for the sake of falsehood, listeners on behalf of other folk who come not unto thee, changing words from their context and saying: If this be given unto you, receive it, but if this be not given unto you, then beware! He whom Allah doometh unto sin, thou (by thine efforts) wilt avail him naught against Allah. Those are they for whom the Will of Allah is that He cleanse not their hearts. Theirs in the world will be ignominy, and in the Hereafter an awful doom;

5:45 And We prescribed for them therein: The life for the life, and the eye for the eye, and the nose for the nose, and the ear for the ear, and the tooth for the tooth, and for wounds retaliation. But whoso forgoeth it (in the way of charity) it shall be expiation for him. Whoso judgeth not by that which Allah hath revealed: such are wrong-doers.

5:51 O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.

Etc.

Istvan

The irony is that some people try to destroy the effect of good things by picking out something out of context. The lines quoted by me relate to general code of conduct of a Muslim. Of course the Quran has express
directions relating to specific circumstances during war and peace.
Not only that Muslims would kill any enemy, regardless of his religion.
Those named were the bitter 'parties' against Muslims during the time those verses were revealed. You wouldn't be surprised to see that today Muslims are killing Muslims...but there is nothing in
Quran to justify their evil act.

Islam says: the killing of one innocent man is the murder of the entire Humanity.

Disbeliever, as I understand, allude to those non-Muslims in the period of the Prophet who heard his message and got his invitation yet were bent upon to destroy him!

Wouldn't anyone say: Kill the Talibans where ever you find them""
No body will refute it as 'bad' because the situation calls for that, doesn't it??

Okey dokey?

I currently read a book by Muhammad Al -Ghazali - "Muslim's Character". This book speaks about Islam's idea of morality which need to be spread to all departments of life.
I will just insert some ideas I loved best:

The Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him, advices us to keep away from:
1.the talk that is trash;
2.the acts that are wicked;
3. the deeds that are senseless;

Islam follows a balanced method which is free of any kind of excess;

Good moral character does not develop suddenly, nor does it become strong and firm in the beginning; it requires consistency and gradualness. Goodness is ingrained in the human nature.

Nations live till their morality lives; when their moral character declines, they also decline.

The distinctive characteristics of the Muslim society in its first period were:
- truth
-discipline
-tolerance
-cautions manner of speaking

There is no 'aim'as such ...it is just a concise compilation of some interesting quotes from the Quran merely for the information of interested readers of comparative religions on this specific thread obviously meant for religious texts.:)
