I'm write more poetry then I do anything else, but every now and then I get the insperation to write a short story. This one is a nightmare I had once, it stuck in my mind so I thought I'd put it on paper.

" Innwood "

I jump from my bed and fall to my floor as the cold midnight wind blows through my slightly cracked window. I can’t breathe, I can’t move, I can’t see and my heart is racing so fast my eyes are rattled by my pulse. The window stands to a halt and all noise fades away. To my left I can see my bedroom door is open. “How can this be? I closed it last night.” I force through my breaking breathe.

The house is as black as the space-less night. Out of no where the wind begins to blow as if by the gods themselves, striking fear into my very bones. There is a sudden flash of light and I squeeze my eye lids unto one another. Slowly the light fades away and I begin to open my eyes. As my eyes regain control of their vision I see it, a women.

She wore a long, ripped, dirty gray dress. A dress you would see only in the past of days. Her body was that of a angel, every part was in its best place. Her skin was as pale as the light she fallowed from. Her eyes seemed lost, angry and amused and her face, her face was of dread. I could not help but fear her sorrow and her fear.

She turned and ran down the hall. With my strength now back I pushed myself up off the floor and ran after her. Each time I turned the corner she did the same on the other end. I finally got to the last turn of the maze reminiscent hallway and I stopped. Curious but afraid I took a deep breath and begin to turn the corner.

As I finished the turn I saw her standing there and all the fright in the hells took over my very soul. My eyes grew wide as my breathe began to dim. Her mouth opened wide showing the rot within her gums and she lounged. The world went black, and all sounds stopped, all fears faded and all thoughts drifted away.
