To the man who penned one of the most terrifying, heart-wrenching, yet enlightening and inspirational books of all time, A People's History of the United States, thank you for your contribution Howard Zinn. Rest in Peace.

Pryderi Agni:
Thanks for those links. I'm surprised more people haven't paid their respects. We need more writers and historians like Howard Zinn in my opinion. Granted he wasn't perfect and at times showed a little bias (who doesn't!), but at least he opened people's eyes to new things never discussed or given the time of day by most "scholars."

Zinn was a great historian-political writer. Perhaps if he was noted for literature, people on this forum may have given greater tribute. He was a true patriot and loved the USA.

True. Although, he was also a playwright, people mainly know him for being a historian. Also, a part of me always associates Zinn with other novelists and poets since he included many excerpts from various books and poems to show how average people were feeling or thinking during whichever time period he was covering. He introduced readers to artists they normally would've never heard about.
