I had one in mind when I created this thread but got distracted and forgot it.

Idk, if I hadn't done my own name, it would probably be some strange philosophical phrase or something associated with James Joyce. Most likely I would've just used some word that I really liked the sound of like "awake" or "disquietude" or "touch".

I know, I'm weird.

Off-topic: In regards to your signature papayahead; I do and I do but I always do not.

I've used Erendis before. She's another Tolkien character, one who had a miserable marriage and become incredibly bitter so it fits but I think it would be fun to move beyond Tolkien. I would go with Sif, from Norse mythology. I would give some serious thought to Freya but I don't think I could really pull that off. :p

I cannot think of anything. I have had this nickname for so many years (both off and online), I cannot imagine using any other name. Hard to change after almost 20 years.

Maybe that is a reason in itself to consider different names.

Hey, this has "a new forum game" written all over it!

:D

I know. I've been papayahed for quite a while now, would I be the same if my screen name was "pustule"??? And how long would it take for everybody to get used to the change??

Idril

I would certainly not think the same of you if you were named pustule! I would gag a little every time I saw your name and then slowly but surely completely avoid you to stop the constant gagging.

Grand ruler of the universe has a nice ring to it, but I consider Aimus Sage to be the best name ever!! Plus, I'm already the king of Mars, the infinite universe and what's left of the turnip nation after the great famine. :D (It's not so glorious anymore) Blast you guinea pigs! Blast you all to hell!

I always wanted to be a great archer, so I would very likely go with something like "Legolas" , "William Tell" or "Aster of Amphipolis" :D

However, archery is not my only interest, for which reason I'm very likely to come back to this thread :brow:

Hmmm... I go by 'Archetype' (big fan of Jung!) on some of the less literary forums I visit, but I chose this name because its a brilliant poem, and I always smile to see it on my posts!

well seeing as i did end up with my own name... my other alias is Blackannis. Fairy lore and all that. :D
Not sure what else i'd choose... something mythical i imagine.

Can't say that I know what I would change too... Something to do with the sea, but I guess I would have to think long an hard. Changing has crossed my mind a time or two, but I guess I'm just me, so no point in changing my name:)

As I have always been a fan of the red rose, then I would change mine to "Red Rose" (thornless - of course)

I've always thought that "Magic Power Ring" would be a cool name screen name.

I would have been "Ocean Gypsy" had I not been is so big a hurry to sign up. It's a favorite song of mine and I love the way it sounds anyway and I love sea and ocean themes.

I would like anything with the word 'queen' in it. Sort of my thing.

Also, I like the word 'foxtrot'. I use to have this thing with my friends called Foxtrot's Theories, a rambling of all of my ideas. That is the name of my blog.

If I were just signing up for Lit Net, I would have chosen Veda or Dharma. Maybe Yama...

I have hated Shalot since shortly after I signed up, for many reasons. but that's my name. So I'm stuck with it. I still like the poem though.

I've been recently called "adorable", but... how masculine would that sound for a male's screen name?

Paulclem
01-27-2010, 08:33 PM
What about animal names. There's all the noble ones like Tiger and Stallion, but then there's so much more scope with the more ignoble ones like Plankton, Amoeba, Weevil, Grub, Louse, Hornet, Worm, Termite, Earwig, Spider, Bacteria, Virus, Bluebottle, Maggot...

My nickname in real life is "rabbit," I guess because I have rabbit-like tendancies.

What tendancies are they? Nibbling carrots? Regurgitating half digested food for a second go? Digging big holes? .... a bit like I'm doing now?

Ha, rabbits aren't ruminants, so they don't regurgitate food. They do, however, have a highly develop caecum and thus make good use of coprophagy, which is so much worse.

Haha, you know how rabbits hold their front paws when they stand on their hind legs (like how Mr. Burns holds his hands all the time, when not connecting his fingertips)? I stand like that. I also freeze with a scared look on my face when I hear loud noises, and I'm pretty twitchy. I'm told that my face is pretty rabbit-like too, but I don't see it.

I kicked my coprophagy habbit though, it was preventing me from making friends.

I read the latter paragraph first and was like WTF, and then read previous posts and was like "whew".

Yeah, rabbits sure are damn cute.

You're giving up the opportunity to be a big star in certain niche film markets though. You could have been one of the girls in the new 2 girls 1 cup.

Jeez, Paulclem, rabbits are incapable of regurgitating food. I thought everyone knew that. I owned a rabbit once and the vet told me but I knew it to be true. However they have another nasty (to human's) of munching on their own pellets...ones they produce in the morning, which contain pure nutrients. I still loved my darling rabbit after I found this to be true. I sure hope Juniper doesn't have real rabbit tendencies! eeek...Hopefully she is referring to the lovelier side of the rabbit species...hiding and being solitary; gentleness and fast on their feet.

Charles Schulz had a memorable and highly acclaimed series of strips sometime in the early 70's in which Charlie Brown's obsession with baseball gets the best of him, and he begins to see all round objects (like the sun and moon) as baseballs. In addition, he develops a rash, making his own head resemble a baseball. So, he starts wearing a paper grocery bag over his head.

http://i457.photobucket.com/albums/qq298/Mr-Sack/245876full.jpg

It is in this condition that Charlie Brown goes to camp. His younger sister taunts him as he departs.

http://i457.photobucket.com/albums/qq298/Mr-Sack/245878full.jpg

But strangely enough, Charlie Brown becomes quite popular at camp. He is even elected camp president. The other children listen to him and treat him with respect.

http://i457.photobucket.com/albums/qq298/Mr-Sack/245888full.jpg

But once Charlie Brown takes off the bag, the kids' perception of him immediately changes.

I bring all this up just to say I really wish I had used Mr. Sack as my litnet name.

Yes - I remember now:thumbs_up. That's the problem with writing what comes into your head on spec - it's mostly rubbish. My only experience of rabbits is Watership Down and a rather aggressive rabbit called Betty that was owned by a fellow student in days of yore. I didn't have much to do with Betty - she wanted a piece of me.

There I go again - on the garbage trail.

:thumbs_up I stand corrected. I knew they had some re-eating habit those rabbits.
