Everlasting Beauty

Her elegance becomes her
draped within midnight's
veil of mystery, as the
winds strum sweetly upon
the stars to play her serenade.

Quivering in ethereal immortality
histories silent witness

Never changing eternal beauty
passing through our lives untouched

Countless souls connected
through words she inspired

Her cold touch ever reaching
alights the spirits fire

Awed beneath her gaze
as she travels through time
yet so intimately felt
by those caught within
her starry webs.

The dark blue elegance of your poem gives beauty even more inspirational power... and I love the subtle meeting of "veil of mystery" in the first stanza, with "history" in the second... thank you...

I find this poem to be so (excuse the four-letter word) damn good! It is amazing. It's quite wonderful.

Mmmm, I love the play between the here and now, the tangible and specific that's relevant to us and the connection to the eternal and forever and how it's all just one thing and yet it never loses its meaning to us in the specific. Lovely language, lovely poem.

Thank you, though the moon is not a "conscious being" it still is completely fascinating and awe inspiring to think that it is the one witness to all events in history since the earths formation.
