Disappearing Act

From the depths of loneliness
I write to you
Suicide is the release for us all
Entrapping us in purgatory
There is no freedom
My body yearns with longing,
My soul tries to break free
Buried alive in a tomb of clay and blood
A prisoner of infinity
My beauty is like the sea
Eternal in its nothingness
The barren shore calls out to me
The vultures lick their lips
The scene is rotting before my eyes
This play fools call life
Is nothing but a prop for insanity
I dwell in the pastures of the sane
But they call out to me
I crawl through town wretched and shy
Spilling my coins with no care
In the alleyways of the heart
I roll up my sleeve and deny myself again
Eyes that linger in disbelief and thought
Watch me slip away
The night holds peace for a sinner as I
The night envelops me
Tales of the supernatural and demons
Fret the sleep of innocence
I awake from dreams of gas chambers
Hoping for insomnia to keep back the dawn
For in the dawn nothing seems to matter
We walk carelessly as newborn birds
But when the sun gives over to his lover the moon
The female form takes hold of the heart
And leaves us in the gutters of despair
Wishing for a kiss
And the eternal promise that comes
When two become one and disappear
