View Full Version : Takk...

Kind of a strange way to say hello, but hey, I suppose it was well-mannered. With that said...

I've been looking for a place with intelligent discussion for some time now. I'm an avid reader, writer, hiker, martial artist, and refuter of all things preposterous. Above all, I'm a traveler and a wanderer; usually preferring the latter of the two terms as opposed to the former ("not all who wander are lost...").

From what I've seen, this is a literal cauldron of opinions and thoughts, and I hope to form friendships with all of you to some degree. I'm a very laid back person, and hope to discuss all things literature with the lot of you in the coming days.

And again: takk.

Taking your location to note, do you mind me asking how those crimson red apocalyptic sand storms have been treating you folks below the equator?

No don't mind... But haven't seen one for a while.

That must have been crazy to see. Point in case, hailing from somewhere cold, I can't even imagine

Actually it is really weird. One minute everything is fine, the next the sky is orange and you are hiding indoors. The doors rattle and windows shake and if you are outside... Look out. Actually,

Melbourne is not so cold these days. I have been here all my life and I must say that each year it gets hotter and hotter.

Sigur Ros is an Icelandic band but perhaps it has a different meaning I'm not familiar with?

Thanks Idril... Seems like a little communication breakdown here.:yawnb:

sigur ros?

Kind of. I traveled through all of Iceland over the summer, and have since become overly-keen on the culture, history, and music. I fell in love with the place when I was there (and to a very large degree believe that it's where my head remains), so I've been overflowing with Icelandic.

Count me jealous.:flare:

Welcome, though! Hopefully you'll share what your experience was like over there.

Icelandic?! Do you love Halldór Laxness? I love Halldór Laxness! :D I'd love to visit there. Along with being a diehard fan of Laxness, I've also read a great many of the old Viking Sagas that take place in Iceland and it would be tremendous fun to see some of those old places.
