My Lady Chaos

Her eyes flayed me
into ribbons
as the venom
upon her lips
burns through me.

We watch
the night turn red
and I feel the fire
of her nails
peel away my flesh.

My breath
stands still
like a stagnant pool
imagining the hum
of breeding
mosquitoes
waiting
to eat me
alive
from the inside.

And she laughs
with the grate
of sandpaper
all gravel
and broken glass.

Her smile
splits open the sky
and the rain
like knives
lances though
whatever is left of me.

Broken upon
the rocks of her caresses
smashed
into her jagged sides
there is no illusion
I live so she can
tear me down.

In the end
rendered
by your
affection.

You have the ability to fashion words into very descriptive pictures.
This was alive with colors and flavorings both bitter and sweet sometimes at the same time.
Well done!
Thank you for sharing.

DM, Sorry I didn't read this sooner. Whoever inspired this poem, sounds like a true ****. May a demon eat her. Love the description of how you personify her actions/words into the destruction of someone's physical body.

LOL thank you, though this poem is not acutally about a real person, it is more about an archtype so to speak, the "Ice Queen" persona. "She" is a concept that I have played around with in a varity of different poems of mine. This sort of untouchable, cold, dominatrix type figure who is in complete control. Pehraps in a way she is my muse, or my personification of the muse. Ever demanding with little mercy.

Shades of Keats's La Belle Dame sans Merci.

Just what we need sometimes when the creative urge gets lazy. Good poem, Dark Muse.

Funny, I've been working to improve my thinking about poems literally. I like the concept.
