What happens when your atom of certainty
Is split by a logical laser?
How will you react to the reaction of nuclear fusion?
You confront the quantum chaos of uncertainty
The induction between your Boolean beliefs
The fractions between the binary integers
The uncontrollable release of Einstein’s famous theorem
Will you try to quell the eruption?

As the ocean rushes in to fill the space between
The separation of your Pangaean nucleus
Will you try to sew the crust together
Even as the seismic movement of tectonic plates
Threaten to rip it apart from the inside out?
Or will you willingly drown in the ocean
Of all that’s unknown?

There is only one answer (to me) - we will "drown in the (Panthalassa) ocean of all that's unknown"... (though not always willingly) -
It is a dense as Pangaean cooling magma poem... sort of forcing to cease resistance and only wonder about this earth with insatiable (but enduring) curiosity... Thank you Morpheus.

"The universe is not only stranger than we imagine, it is stranger than we can imagine!” John S. Haldane

Thanks for doing so well to make it no better known albeit in such a metaphysically witty way!

@ Bar22do: Thanks for the thoughtful criticism. I wish I had thought of Panthalassa myself.

@ Kutta: I always know I've done well when you decide to comment. Thanks, though I really can't agree it's "brilliant".

@ Prince: Thanks also; I'll match you one quote for another: "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, / Than are dreamt of in your philosophy." - Hamlet, Act I Scene V

When faced with uncertainty, we just have to wing it or be flexible.

I'm not really the right audience for this type of poem, so I can't claim to like it. It seemed a bit dry for my taste- but I like to read about flowers and butterflies. Haha! However, your point is well taken and many people enjoyed it.

I can sympathize Jersea; I'm much more of a romantic myself, but sometimes you get a metaphor in mind and you just have to write it down even if it's not in tune with your usual style and tastes!

nice, good point, just lacks a little linguistic wit, you know rhymes or a pun or something... just something to add some humor... because t'is really a little dry
good point, whatsoever
Bad Religion would make a nice song out of it ... or have they already... dunno they made so many songs.. but they'd use some nice puns
nice point:)

@ inbetween, if you spoke in shorter bursts you would remind me of Mr. Jingle from Dickens' Pickwick Papers! :D As to your comments; while I didn't use "end rhymes" in the piece I definitely used a healthy dose of aliteration, consonance and assonance, and I thought the copious metaphors would make it "wet" enough to where I could get away without using a ton of vivid descriptions.

albeit, I miss something.. hard to trace, perhaps a nice melody... something that carries you through it ... I mean a good song needs strong lyrics as well as an appropriate melody and I just miss that melody
but perhaps I'm just too stupid to read it correctly:lol:
whatsoever, I'm just telling you how I feel... so this is no considered answer, just quick thoughts on their obscure ways through the labyrinth of my mind:)

(gee, seems that "just" has become my favourit word ^^)
