Thank you Scher. Wherever did you get the picture?

I got lots of books and new bolts for the neck.

Happy Birthday Paul. :bday_2: It's always a pleasure to talk to you. :)

I'm not sure if there's any specific meaning to you having Franky as an avatar, but it's cool. ;)

Thanks everyone. I'll respond to you individually, but in the meantime I have added a link to John Donne's Poem, A Nocturnal Upon St Lucie's Day, which is written for the 21st of December - the shortest day of the year.

To lighten the mood, I've lso included a seasonal offering.

Happy Birthday - bit of a mistake having a birthday on the shortest day of the year wasn't it? Lunch in the Leofric, no doubt (if it's still called that :)).

Happy Birthday to you,
You live in a book,
You smell like Frankie,
And you look like one too.

Here`s your birthday cake

Thanks for the thread Scher- It was very nice of you to start this up.

Thanks Papayahead. I'm intrigued by your name.

Thanks Neely. i did have a good one with the family. Being in education we do get fantastic holidays. I hope you fnd something useful in your reading.

Thank you Billl. Why is it 3 Ls? I think Virgil mentioned too.

Thank you Janine. The DH Lawrence discussion was interesting in the summer.

Thanks Virgil. I picked the Frankenstein avatar as reflecting my level of handsomeness - though it looks nothing like me. I have greyed dirty blond hair, and freckles except where the skin tone is either corned beef coloured or that translucent pale that only comes in an overcast and rainy climate. The innovative nuts and bolt neck body piercings I could use, though I would go for a cosmetic bolt rather than a full neck piercing.

Thanks Mona Amon, MaryD and eyemaker.

Thank you Kasie - shortest day but longest nighhhhhhhhttttttttt. (Doesn't make as much difference now though).

Thanks TheFifthElement. Is you name referring to the film?

Thanks Poetess - unfortunately I do. The interet solves a lot of those socialising problems for me.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate your good wishes. I hope you have a very nice Christmas and a great New Year.

 It sounds like we're twins, except I have greyed dark brown hair. :D
