I'm doing a research paper where I have to compare the book "Animal Farm" to a famous event in history. I have chosen World War 2. I would prefer to compare it mainly to the war in Europe, with Hitler.

I mainly need what items/characters in the book relate to things that happened during the war. Obviously, Napolean is Hitler.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Check sticky thread in this section, it's all explained there.

Well actually, Napoleon isn't "obviously Hitler". Napoleon is portrayed as Joseph Stalin, who is much worse than Hitler. And Animal Farm isn't about WWII. It's about the Russian Revolution.

Mr. Jones is Czar Nicholai
Old Major is Karl Marx or Vladmir Lenin
Animalism is Communism
Snowball is Leon Trotsky
Napolean is Hitler or Joseph Stalin
Squealer is propoganda
Frederick can be Hitler
the dogs are the KGB of secret police

Napoleon is definitely not Hitler. He is unquestionably Stalin.

Old Major is a mix of Marx & Lenin rather than either one.

The correct list of all characters is in the sticky thread.

I have just started readed Animal Farm, I rough had chatting about it with support teacher. My 1st impression was Napolean is basic Stalin and I see now Mr Jones is Czar Nicholai. Personal I only know bit Russia re but it was quite easy spot communism it make with Old Major foreshadowing the uprising of the Animals. Napolean make quite clear in begining at hes charge of it all. (Subtle is word is used when Napolean is state hes claim).

Yeah, I believe that Animal Farm is an allegory for the Russian Revolution.

It's linked to WW11 because it represents events during and after the Russian revolution of 1917. Following WW1, communism had spread to Germany and during he 1920s there were six million members of the German Communist party. Without that threat, it is unlikely that Adolf Hitler would have come to power and WW11 might have been avoided.
