First, can any body tell me, how long does NASA need time to make sure when a solar/lunar eclipse happened?

Note:
BMKG (Department of Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics) Indonesia needs 15 days to know when solar and lunar eclipse happened.

May some people have religion because of their birth...

Forget that science is not matching with religion...

So, many people, especially the scientist didn't have religion...

So, what did Śrī Kṛṣṇa said about this?

Bhagavad Gita 5.4:
Only a fool talking about bhakti (karma-yoga) as different from studying the material world in the analysis (Sankhya). People who really wise to say that those who pursue one of two roads that will achieve good results from both.

The mighty Lord on high, our deeds, as if at hand, espies;
The gods know all men do, though men would fain their deeds disguise.
Whoever stands, whoever moves, or steals from place to place,
Or hides him in his secret cell,--the gods his movements trace.
( Translation of Atharvaveda, Book IV)

I have read and heard that astrology is a science and they can forecast the timing of eclipses. I believe that our ancestors could predict and they had a wonderful mathematical knowledge.

However, I am skeptical of the fact that today astrologers can forecast the same. I think the way forecasts are done they take aide from astronomy. Of course people who ardently defending astrological ideas may be vexed with this opinion.

I Know the Vedas are great repositories of knowledge, yet speaking honestly today's astrologists independently can forecast such things.

I know I will have to face both supporters and those who oppose this idea on this forum. Maybe discussions will wind up the doubt.

I guess we should not really compare these two. They are totally different. Let us just respect each others' principles and views in life so we may also be respected. I have a girlfriend who is a Hare Krishna devotee while I am a Roman Catholic. We are totally opposite in beliefs but we never, ever argued about that. We always talk about our own religion, trying to discover each of them but still, we always listen to each others' story and try to correlate them and how are they same and different. Peace on earth.

I subscribe to your ideas totally and your ideas of tolerance really moved me beyond words. Of course as humans we must have a feeling of tolerance and this will keep us together in unity not in division

I am dieing to get back to this thread cos I have questions to ask about Veda, I have asked Blaze on other threads but he obviously didnt go back to them to see my question...or I didnt return to get his answer.lol. Now that we have a thread for it please post more about the Veda. Blaze said its similar to the Tao Te Thing, I am really interested to know more.

Dizzydoll, the Vedas are a great source of knowledge. The Vedas never claim to the ultimate truth. It says Neti, Neti, Neti. This is a Sanskrit world. It means this is not the end. If we can really explore into the Vedas we can find an ocean of knowledge. I have read Taoism and I find something in it bearing a great resemblance to what is taught in the Vedas

It's ok, you don't need NASA. (or BKMG)

That kind of information is able to worked out by any old astronomer.

Here are some solar eclipses due for the next 25 years.

I suspect that probably because it sat on someone's desktop for 14.9 days because whoever had the request had no idea how easily this information could be obtained.

The sun, moon and earth follow odd, but fully predictable courses, and working out when lunar and solar eclipses happen is just mathematics.

Yes I recall now, I have a friend who lives in Letsitele who used to live in India for many years [9years] and she spoke of Bhagavad Gita, I seem to recall the color orange as being significant. But her and I didnt really discuss it any further..

Then secondly before I download, what is the Vega Diagram, is it a picture or photo?

Thanks for answering Blaze, I suppose I must read now... do your have any links you would recommend?

And one can only wonder at what was in Alexandra's Library, literature from all over the world... lost forever. Everything happens in cycles, so we had to start again. Such a shame tho, having that library would have produced a different world. imo.
